Atlanta History Center - Search Our Collections
We created an online space where researchers and curious Atlantans alike can explore the city’s history, people, and culture through a unified, federated search of the museum’s digital collections.
The design is clean and modern, with a focus on simplicity. It serves as both a guide and a search tool, offering wayfinding cues and helpful tips for users with complex queries. Seamlessly integrated into the site, it enhances rather than complicates the user experience, stands out visually from the standard site search, and allows photography to take center stage.
We discovered that many items in the museum's collection lacked photographs, so we set out to create a custom set of icons to visually represent those objects.
